So frustrated about a friend

I just graduated seven weeks ago; then, I asked daddy and his friend come to my graduation ceremony. I knew he has some military service, so I just said, would you please try to ask ur commander if you could take one day leave?

But he didn't even tried to do so, and declined to come; I felt so sad, but I wouldn't be sad, if he tried to ask and got denied by his commander;

Then, I would like to invited him come out for dinner for the celebration afterwards, but it has been seven weeks and he could find a time for this. however, he spent every weekend on parties or meetings with his friends, there he has time!

Any idea?
