If you are unemployed ( and even if you are not ) you could do some voluntary work in Helsinki. I believe that it would be easier to get a paid job if you told about your involvement in voluntary work in a job application because most employers would appreciate it. It would also give a good impression of you. Your Finnish would improve and you would get to know new people.I also believe that the voluntary work organizers would be willing to give you references.

        The detailed information is unfortunately only in Finnish. You can get info in English if you contact one of the voluntary work co-ordinators. Tell her something about your background,what your mother tongue is,how much Finnish you understand ( if any ) and what kind of work you are most interested in and the co-ordinator will contact you and give you some suggestions!

      You could also do voluntary work for KVT in Helsinki ( Finnish skills are not necessary ). KVT is not only about summer work camps, they are active throughout the year.
